With the economy crippled, I wait and hope. It's a long fatigue. Dreamily, the muscles in my
body are creaking to a halt.
Week after
week I wait.
And
they stretch out badly. Time itself has begun to creep forward, no longer
flowing with the regularity it once maintained. My movements have slowed,
and my knees ache and click like a sixty-year-old when I stand up. I sleep all
the time, wake late and then nap feeling worse than before.
Tired I am, and it’s like a virus I can’t shake off, and Jesus, everyone is ill.
Thank God for Turkey Ham
